About Our Team

Dr. Isaac Y. Taitz, Ph.D.
President and Head Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Isaac Y. Taitz is a clinical psychologist, published author, researcher, and speaker who treats a wide variety of issues, with specialties in sleep treatment and solution-focused therapy for patients of all ages.
He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University and his B.S. with honors in Human Development from Cornell University. He treats patients struggling with depression, anxiety, inattention, impulsivity, pain, concussion, bereavement, relationships, and autism spectrum behaviors.
Dr. Taitz specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i; the gold standard for insomnia treatment), Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (empirically proven for nightmare reduction), and Lucid Dreaming Therapy (a new treatment using your awareness of being in a dream). As improved sleep helps physical and mental health, we will work together to find the best sleep skills for you.
Dr. Taitz uses solution-focused therapy to build on all clients’ strengths with empathy and occasionally humor. He connects with youth through their favorite media and pop culture to develop creative solutions for personal and interpersonal success. Dr. Taitz can collaborate with schools, coaches, & doctors to find the best, integrated approach for you and yours.

Dr. Sara Roldan, Psy.D.
Psychological Associate
Sara Roldan is a highly sought-after bilingual (Spanish/English) clinician with a multicultural background and extensive expertise in trauma therapy. With experience spanning hospitals, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), community mental health settings, and private practice, Sara has cultivated a unique ability to address the most complex cases of trauma, including career-related trauma, hospital trauma, and the challenges faced by active-duty military personnel and first responders.
Sara specializes in treating Complex PTSD (CPTSD) and PTSD, combining evidence-based, bottom-up approaches that focus on nervous system regulation and holistic healing. Her therapeutic methods include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and mindfulness-based interventions such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). These techniques are thoughtfully tailored to each individual, providing a path to deep, sustainable healing, especially for those who have not found success with traditional talk therapy.

Dr. Janet Ricci Elkun, PsyD
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Ricci Elkun is a licensed clinical psychologist and an adjunct professor at MiraCosta College. She offers integrative psychotherapy—a more holistic approach that combines various therapeutic techniques tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Born and raised in Italy, Dr. Ricci Elkun began her career as a nurse practitioner before earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical psychology. She practiced as a psychotherapist in Italy and later completed a doctoral degree in clinical psychology in the United States, graduating with honors.
Dr. Ricci Elkun has formal training in several therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnosis (CH), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, autogenic training, bioenergetic interventions, and Schema Therapy (ST).
Her specialties include trauma, anxiety and panic disorders, mood disorders, chronic pain, somatic disorders, personality disorders, and minority stress.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Ricci Elkun received specialized training in mindfulness-based interventions at the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Mindfulness Self-Compassion (MSC).
She is also a certified clinical hypnotherapist and is passionate about psychoanalytic concepts, cultural sensitivity, and awareness. Her diverse experiences across countries and clinical settings have enriched both her personal and professional identity, enhancing her clinical expertise.
Dr. Ricci Elkun is fluent in English and Italian and understands written and spoken French. She enjoys working with individuals and couples of diverse ages and backgrounds.
